TAIJI "CHEN" STYLE
The Taiji traditional ancient practice is a way to self-awareness. It is a doorway to a more relaxed, present and energized state of being.

“Rooted in Earth and connected with the sky” is another way of describing the aim of the taiji practice.

Through the learning of the taiji “routines” or movements, the apprentice is guided to directly experience a more harmonious flowing of the vital energy in himself.
Taoism philosophy (from where taiji comes) is based upon the “yin/yang principle” which is a representation of the universal dance of the opposites, the dualistic dance of the universe. Through the harmonization in ourselves of this seemingly opposite forces we reach “union” or “wholeness”.

Though Taiji can have many aspects to it (a martial art, a health and well being practice, a “moving meditation”), its main purpose is the transcendence of the illusory dualistic state of self and a journey into rediscovering our true nature.
